  • Award-winning Film and Television Director and Producer.
  • – Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (FHEA).
  • – Director of the feature film Only Love Matters, the first in cinema history with lead intersex characters set in the UK and many other TV drama series, talk shows and documentaries.
  • – Media Academic: Lecturing, Supervising, and Mentoring PhD, MSc and BA students (since 2000).
  • – Former Communication editor of the CHASE Brief Encounters, a peer-reviewed postgraduate journal (issue 4).
  • – Post-doctoral research on Film Pathway Programmes and PhD Professional Practice Film, TV And Media Research, School of Art Media and American Studies, University of East Anglia. It was the first-ever doctoral study from a practitioner academic’s perspective that brings together theoretical readings of representation of intersex in English language feature film with professional practice.
  • – My research interests based on the experience as a practitioner in film and television for twenty-five years, combining with my academic studies which include Hollywood, British, Australian films, Television, Media practice, Gender, Legislations and Representation of Intersex people.

Research Associate & Associate Lecturer/Tutor: Doing post-doc research on film studies; Supervising research dissertation and Teaching BA & MA film and television productions; 3D recording; Digital Media Theory & Practice; Ethics in a digital age; The Internet; and Theorising social media, also technical and professional skills including screenwriting, direction, camerawork and editing.
Coordinator: Green Film Festival UEA (an annual environmentally themed film festival which holds film screenings, workshops, speeches, and other events). Lead on the specific engagements of the organisation, planning, designing and organising events within the festival, liaising with speakers, technical and other teams.
Local Representative UEA: UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN, a peer-led consortium for world-leading research). Organise UKRN events across and within UEA faculties and disseminate UKRN information.
